blog session 5: want to talk about perfume

perfume is an electropop music female trio from hiroshima, japan, consisting by ayano omoto, yuka kashino and ayaka nishiwaki. they formed originally in 2001. since 2003, they are produced by nakata, dj and electropop producer, band capsule's founder. they have worked varieties of electro music, including techno, dance and technopop, being they heir of post-shibuya-kei music, something like a mix between jazz and indie music sounds and j-pop (bands like pizzicato five or fantastic plastic machine). each performance in concert or tv show, they are presented with nicknames. so, ayano is nocchi, yuka is kashiyuka and ayaka is a-chan. girls participated in a talent academy named "happy baby" where they were recognized like great pop talents. as a major pop band in japan, they got fame in 2005 and part of their hits are "computer city" and "electro world". in july, 2007, one of their songs "Polyrhythm" reached the popularity because it was used in a recycling campaign in japan. with passing time, they meets international fame, presented in world festivals and their sound was evolving, too. nowadays, perfume is one of the most famous and important j-pop bands from all over japan.

blog session 4: my neighbor totoro

totoro or my neighbor totoro is a japanese animated film created and directed by hayao miyazaki and produced by ghibli studio, realeased on 1988. totoro is a supernatural being from forests, something like an nature spirit, a children protector. the film tells a fantasy story where two sisters, mei and satsuki, move to countryside by her father, who works as profesor in the university of tokyo. everyday satsuki and mei go to wait her dad in bus stop, beside bus stop sign. one of that days, when it's raining, girls meet totoro in bus stop, who was waiting for his buscat or nekobasu to go home. meanwhile, her mother is suffering a disease in hospital, so they visit her to know how she's getting better. the two children wish her mother go home soon, but the medical announcement says she has to stay in caution view. because this last, it happened a misunderstanding where mei, the younger sister, go away to fields looking for her mom. satsuki decides looking for her sister, so she calls totoro for help. totoro sends catbus and satsuki get in to find mei. finally, mei appeares, then her mom recovers health and get back home. i think my neighbor totoro is one of the most important animated film in history. miyazaki's works characterized for treat fantasy and imagination in childhood. that's what i like and that's what make totoro one of my favorite films. i got a totoro tattoo over my right arm, in fact.
